Meritah Wisdom educational programs and services are offered at no cost to participants, in keeping with our commitment to advancing education and making African Indigenous knowledge accessible.

What We Teach

One integrated educational program.

African Indigenous Heritage & Cultural Wellness Education is the institution’s integrated educational program, organized around one field of study and eight interconnected areas of inquiry.

01 · History & Worldview African Indigenous civilizations and the worldviews through which communities understood life and society.
02 · Wellness & Community Life Traditional understandings of harmonious living, family, community responsibility, and collective well-being.
03 · Culture & Human Civilization How culture shapes identity, language, ethics, governance, education, and civilization.
04 · Storytelling Traditions Storytelling as a means of preserving history, ethics, leadership, memory, and community knowledge.
05 · Music Traditions Music as a cultural language carrying memory, identity, historical understanding, and community life.
06 · Indigenous Governance & Dialogue Leadership, consensus-building, conflict resolution, dialogue, and collective responsibility.
07 · Traditional Food Knowledge & Nutrition Food systems, nutrition, agriculture, ecological knowledge, and sustainability.
08 · Ethnobotanical Education Plants, biodiversity, ecological stewardship, environmental knowledge, and traditional botanical knowledge.

Where learning can happen.

Meritah Wisdom’s educational programs may be delivered in community learning spaces, schools, libraries, cultural centres, public institutions, online learning environments, and other appropriate settings that support public access to learning.
